Influenced by my previous work “Tarbarja I” (reenactments of past events in their original locations) I wanted to form a different kind of association with these memories. When I take objects out of their environment, almost as souvenirs from that time period, can I recreate the emotions with that time period? As an experiment, I went with friends to help me collect tiles from a destroyed beach resort called Les Mouettes. I took them back to my studio juxtaposed them next to diaries from the time period. With the help of photographer, Dorine Potel, we documented the compositions.
